
The South Jones Lady Braves fell for the first time on The Reservation this season when the Petal Lady Panthers knocked them off 56-47 on Tuesday.
The Lady Braves (4-3) took a 25-23 lead into intermission, but an 18-10 run by the Lady Panthers in the third quarter was too much for the home team to overcome.
Kalen Phillips paced the Lady Braves with 17 points and eight rebounds. Freshman forward Endia Holliday added a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds and LeDaria Moody chipped in with 12 points and four rebounds.
The Lady Braves are scheduled to be back in action on Saturday when they face cross-county rival Northeast Jones in The Jungle.
The Lady Panthers improved to 7-2 with the win.

The Braves improved to 3-4 on the season with the win over the visiting Panthers.
South led 27-23 at intermission and used a 16-9 advantage in the third quarter to stymie a Panthers’ rally in the final period to get the win.
The Braves will be back in action on Saturday when they travel to The Jungle to battle Northeast Jones.
