Kim Jones looked to the archives for inspiration for this latest Fendi couture collection, finding food for thought in Karl Lagerfeld's futuristic designs during his time as artistic director at the Italian fashion house.
“In the collection there is a humanism at the heart of this future; there’s the body, the silhouette within the silhouette, the person and the handwork of the couture," explained Jones. "The collection is about structure and decoration, where the two become indivisible. I wanted an idea of precision and emotion at once.”
The designer also paid tribute to "the supreme skills" of the craftspeople that work in the Fendi ateliers – from embroiderers to tailors, pattern-cutters, leather workers and dressmakers.
